What to expect

First Acupuncture Visit (90 Minutes):

A thorough intake is given to account for a whole-systems approach to the presenting issue. Questions, goals, and treatment course are discussed. Needle retention time is typically shorter during the first visit to provide ample room for assessment and dialogue.

Follow-up acupuncture Visits (60 minutes):

Follow-up visits focus on following the treatment plan and goals. A brief intake is given, allowing time for needle retention and rest during the appointment.

acupuncture treatment courses typically span 6 to 12 weekly visits
depending on the condition, with holistic effects experienced gradually.

first herbal consultation visit (~60 minutes):

Similar to a first acupuncture visit, a thorough intake is given to account for a whole-systems approach to the presenting issue. A Chinese herbal diagnosis is made by observing the tongue and wrist pulses. Custom formulas and treatment course are created accordingly.

follow-up Herbal visits (~30 minutes):

Changes in the presenting issue are tracked through observation and dialogue, and custom herbal formulas are modified accordingly. Follow-up visits provide time for “check-in”, as well questions, comments, and discussion about current herbal medicines and treatment goals.

Chinese herbal medicine works gradually with the body
to restore balance.

Results may appear days or weeks following the start
of an herbal formula.

timelines for dermatological issues may range from 6 to 12 months, with follow-up visits typically occurring every 2 to 4 weeks.

herbs are taken daily during the course of treatment.
